Mt. Hope Lutheran Church

Who We Are

Welcome!

Are you looking for a caring, compassionate, and welcoming group of God's people who gather for worship and to study God's Word or are you looking for a place where you can slide in and out unnoticed? We know, every church says they're welcoming and we realize that many are only welcoming to the people they know. We're a bit different in that we are welcoming to every person who walks in the door. So, if you are looking for a church you can sneak in and out of anonymously - we're not the church for you. If you're looking to be part of a group of people who genuinely care for each other and everyone who comes through our doors - then, drop by on a Sunday morning or connect with us or at one of our midweek small group Bible Studies.

If you're interested in a bit of our history, Mt. Hope got its start in June of 1966 with a kick-off worship service at Southern Hills Jr. High School. In about a year, we moved to our present location and have been here ever since. We also partner with University Lutheran Chapel on the University of Colorado - Boulder campus.

You are always welcome here. You are invited to come explore Christianity at Mt. Hope. Bring your doubts, questions and skepticism and see how God meets you here.

Grow in Christ ... Share His Love!

 1

Our Values

We value relationships with people. People are very valuable and all people matter. Each one of us is "fearfully and wonderfully made" by God (Psalm 139:14).
At Mt. Hope, we enjoy getting together to worship God; grow in our Christian faith; make an impact in the community; or to laugh, talk and even cry together as brothers and sisters in Christ.

2

Our Values

Care and compassion characterize how we live life together.  We seek to have the heart of Christ.  When Jesus saw a crowd that was harassed and helpless, He had compassion on them (Matthew 9:36).
At Mt. Hope, we share His love as we care for people with compassionate hearts  - celebrating, grieving, encouraging, helping and listening to each other.

3

Our Values

Spiritual Growth is a strong value as we grow in Christ.  Paul encouraged the church in Ephesus "to grow up into him who is the head, into Christ" as we are built up in love (Ephesians 4:15-16).
At Mt. Hope, God grows us as we gather for worship and receive the gifts He offers in His Word, through baptism and communion.  God grows us as we study, share, and serve to make us more like Christ.

4

Our Values

As a community, we seek to love our neighbor as we love ourselves (Matthew 22:39).  As we live life together, "we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin" (1 John 1:7).
At Mt. Hope, God brings us together as a community of people who follow Jesus.  We share Jesus' love with each other and seek to share His love with the Boulder county community and the world.

We Grow in Christ as we experience God

  • through reading and studying the Bible
  • by hearing God's Word and receiving God's forgiveness through Baptism and Communion in worship
  • through talking to God as we pray

We Share His Love as we are generous

  • with our facilities by sharing them with the community
  • with our finances as we support organizations that care for people
  • with our finances as we support organizations that share Jesus with others.
  • with Jesus' love.  We love others because God loved us first.

As we Grow in Christ and Share His Love

  • We pray to God
  • We study the Bible
  • We seek to be in community with one another
  • We lean on and trust in Jesus no matter what’s going on in life
  • We seek to live like Christ by loving others as Christ loves us
  • We worship and receive God’s grace

Our Vision

Compelled by Christ's love and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we will become a community of Jesus followers who are:

  • actively involved in the Boulder community
  • helping those who are struggling
  • helping families Grow in Christ and Share His Love

Worship

We gather to worship God and receive God's gifts every Sunday. (Hebrews 10:24-25) In worship we use words and music from every Christian century to help us communicate our thanks to God, while we also receive the life changing wisdom of God's Word and forgiveness through the sacrament of Holy Communion.
SERMONS AND WORSHIP VIDEOS

Sunday School
and Bible Studies

When you love someone, you want to spend time with them and learn everything about them that you can.  God loves us and we love Him back, so we want to get to know God more and the best place to do that is in the Bible.  We currently offer Sunday School for children on Sunday mornings at 11:00am. Our adults dig into God's Word on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings.
